Justin Sparks Comments on Ezekiel Elliott Suspension Case

Updated: Feb 11, 2022

Oct 27, 2017 – As a local Fort Worth lawyer who has been following the Ezekiel Elliott suspension case, Justin Sparks shared his perspective in a Star Telegram article covering the dramas of the 2017 Cowboys season. The article weighs Sparks’ prediction that the court will rule in favor of Elliott serving out his six-game suspension.

Sparks’ prediction is based on the wording in Elliott’s collective bargaining agreement, which he believes renders Elliott powerless in the situation. Sparks also draws a parallel between Elliott’s pending case and Tom Brady’s suspension in 2015, which was  delayed but eventually served nonetheless. Perhaps a delayed suspension period is what we should expect this time around, too.
